Obituary for Lorraine G. Queen (Parr)

Lorraine Looman Queen, 89, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at 7:55 a.m. at Essex of Salem.

Born in East Liverpool, February 25, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Romney and Ellen “Nellie” Bennett. A resident of this area all her life, she was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church. She was also a member of the Lady Elks, the Grandparents Club, the Tri-Angle Area Seniors and was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1940.

Her first husband, Guy J. Looman, died in 1971, her second husband, Robert J. Queen, died in 1996. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Nolan.

Survivors include a daughter, Terry Sant, and her fiancé Robert Trbovich, of East Liverpool, as well as a son, Richard J. Looman, and his partner David Herchik, of Washington, DC. A step-daughter, Theresa Phaw, of Akron, and a sister, Dorothy Ibbs of East Liverpool, also survives.

In addition, there are two grandsons, Eric Sant and his wife, Amanda, of Waxhaw, North Carolina, and Chris Sant and his wife Amy, of Frederick, Maryland. One great-granddaughter Olivia, and a great-grandson Caleb of Frederick, Maryland survive, as do two great-grandsons, Ethan and Weston, of Waxhaw, North Carolina. There are also five nieces, and three nephews, as well as her best friend, companion and pet Kippy.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Reverend Jeffrey Baker of the church will conduct a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends will then gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
