OBITUARY

SHIRLEY ANN NAGEL

LEETONIA – Lifetime area resident Shirley Ann Nagel, most recently of State Route 164 in Leetonia, passed away at Salem Regional Medical Center at 4:18 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014, with her loving family by her side.

A daughter of the late Otha and Frances Frampton Heffner, Shirley was born at home in Irondale, Ohio, on November 16, 1929. She was a 1947 graduate of Irondale High School.

A Protestant by faith, she had been a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and had also been a familiar face at the former Hill’s Department Store in East Liverpool, where she had been a cashier until her retirement in 1990.

Surviving her at home is her husband, Raymond I. Nagel, whom she married on July 15, 1971.

Shirley is also survived by a daughter, Marsha Whitla and her husband, Gary, of Wellsville, as well as a son, Mark Grafton of Oviedo, FL.

There are two grandchildren: Kristen Clark, and her husband John, of Richmond, RI, and Gary Michael Whitla of Akron, one great-grandson, Aiden Kristopher Clark of Richmond, RI, along with a sister, Beverly Tedeschi of Highlandtown, and a brother, Daniel Heffner and his wife, Annette, of Irondale.

Shirley was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Ciotti and Marilyn Joanne Heffner, along with a brother, Gerald Heffner.

Services will be held at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Ted Ludwig officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the Dawson Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., the time of the service, on Wednesday.

Burial will take place at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Irondale.
