Obituary for Pearl Helen Ash (Hart)

Pearl Helen Hart Ash, of Azalea Avenue, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the East Liverpool City Hospital. She was 91.

Born in Chester, March 30, 1923, she was a daughter of the late James Emmett and Agnes Eichler Hart. She was a graduate of the former Wells High School.

A member of the First Church of the Nazarene, East Liverpool and its Rose of Sharon Sunday School Class, she worked at the former TS & T Pottery and the Homer Laughlin China Company for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ash, on December 1, 2002. The couple married May 6, 1946.

There are six children: a daughter, Linda Morris of Wellsville, and five sons, Billy Ash and his wife Ruby of East Liverpool, Edward Ash of East Liverpool, David Ash, and his wife Ashley, of Negley, Ralph Ash of East Liverpool and Jeffrey Ash, and his wife Denise of Wellsville.

Eleven grandchildren also survive: Heather McCartney, Michael Morris, Jacqueline Murray, and her husband Douglas, Christopher Ash, Billy Ash Jr., Vincent Ash, Daniel Ash, and his wife Stacey, Michael Murphy, Hillary Ash, Lucas Ash and Nicholas Ash, as well as 15 great-grandchildren, Bethany, Jonathan and Logan McCartney, Marah and Paige Morris, Owen Bean, Kenneth and Alexis Hall, Connor, Logan and Elijah Murray, Jeordyn Sollick and her husband Thad, Daniel Ash II, Dalton Ash, and Connor Murphy, and one great-granddaughter Emberli Meadow Sollick.

One brother survives as well, John Hart of Chester. She also leaves behind John and Donna Stewart of East Liverpool who she considered her own children.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by six sisters, Martha Hart, Georgiana Snow Williams, Ruth Coil, Evelyn Hart, Mary Simballa and Leona Hart, five brothers, Earl, Paul, Roy, Ralph and Lawrence Hart, and a grandson, David Murphy, as well as a son-in-law Jerry Morris.

Friends may visit Sunday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Dr. Robert Sylvies will conduct a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at the First Church of the Nazarene, East Liverpool for fellowship.
