Obituary for Jack D. Densmore

Lifetime East Liverpool resident Jack D. Densmore passed away on December 11, 2014, following a brief illness.

He was born July 25, 1924 in East Liverpool, a son of the late Arnold A. and Marjorie Croxall Densmore. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine, whom he married on July 27, 1947, as well as his daughter, Maureen, his brother Dean (and his wife, Jeanette), and his grandson, Zachary.

Jack enjoyed every day of his 90 years. As a third generation bricklayer, the legacy of his craft will continue on for years to come. But his greatest legacy and his greatest pleasure was always his family.

A World War II veteran, Jack served with the U.S. Army. A 50-year member of the Bricklayer’s Union, Jack retired from Babcock & Wilcox after 30 years of service. He was a lifelong pigeon flyer and was a founding member of the East Liverpool Pigeon Club. He was also a longtime member of Holy Trinity Parish.

Left to mourn his passing are his surviving children: Michael A. Densmore and his wife, Sue, of East Liverpool; Frank N. Densmore and his wife, Debi, of Augusta; Jan Lopes and her husband, Jeff, of Economy, PA; Jackie Vernaccini and her husband, Michael, of East Liverpool; and John P. Densmore, also of East Liverpool.

Jack also leaves behind his brother, Tom Densmore and his wife, Pat, of East Liverpool; and his sister, Margie Ann Davis and her husband, Robert, also of East Liverpool. There are 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Sunday, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Monday, with Father Peter Haladej officiating, immediately followed by a continued time of fellowship at the Dawson Family Center.

Burial will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
