Obituary for Lillian Ann Shaw (Dunn)

Loving wife, mother and grandmother, Lillian Ann Shaw, of Dilworth Road in East Liverpool, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon, February 27, 2015 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, where she had been admitted earlier in the week. In addition to her loving children and close friends, she was also surrounded at the time of her death by her husband, Mike, who stayed by her side day and night throughout her lengthy illness.

She was born on October 11, 1955 in East Liverpool, a daughter of the late Doris Shive Dunn Shaw, who died in 2005, and Ronald Keith Dunn, who passed away tragically in 1978. She was a 1974 graduate of East Liverpool High School and was a lifetime area resident.

On June 19, 1976, she married her childhood sweetheart, Michael K. “Mike” Shaw, and together raised their family here and took great pride in their accomplishments. Many of their fondest memories as a family involved karate and coaching Little League sporting events. She was a quiet supporter and a constant presence in the lives of her children, grandchildren and her many friends.

A die-hard Steelers fan, she worked as a sales associate and a licensed gemologist at King’s Jewelers, where she had worked for the last twelve years until the time of her recent illness. When not working, Lillian loved vacationing at Myrtle Beach with her entire family, attending concerts, and spending precious time with her loved ones.

She was a longtime member of Campground Community Church, and her faith sustained her throughout the toughest times of her life, with the support of Pastor Tom Adkins and his wife, Linda.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Jamie Clemens and her husband, Tyler, of East Liverpool; Jeremy Shaw and his fiancée, Kristy Holtzman, of Calcutta; and Jordan Shaw, also of East Liverpool. Lillian was also the proud grandmother of Makya, Jayden, Cole, Peyton and Justice, as well as her grand-dog, Kodah.

Also surviving is her mother-in-law, Dorothy Shaw, as well as a cousin, Bruce Dunn, and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many loyal friends who have provided support. The family wishes to acknowledge the community outpouring, and the “Prayer Warriors” who have offered love and prayers throughout her ordeal.

Lillian was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald Dunn, Jr. and Robert Shive, as well as her father-in-law, Rev. Keith Shaw and step-father, Lloyd Shaw.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Sunday (today), where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Monday, with Rev. Tom Adkins of the church officiating.

Lillian will be laid to rest at Columbiana County Memorial Park, followed by a continued time of fellowship at the Dawson Family Center.
