Obituary for Janet Lynn Landis (Brant)

Janet Lynn Landis, of East Liverpool, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Lifeline Hospital in Wintersville, following a lengthy illness. At the time of her death, she was surrounded by her loving family.

Born in East Liverpool on April 17, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Roseland Parsons Brant. She had attended East Liverpool High School and worked as a laborer in the warehouse at Homer Laughlin China Company, where she retired after 37 years.

She loved her family first and foremost, but especially enjoyed Saturday shopping trips with her sisters. Janet also looked forward to her “Breakfast Club” outings with other Homer Laughlin retirees.

Her husband, Walter V. “Butch” Landis, survives at home. The couple married on August 7, 1972. She is also survived by a daughter, Lynette Marsh, and her husband John, of Bergholz, OH, and a son, Steve Landis of East Liverpool.

There are two sisters, JoAnn Curnutte of East Liverpool, and Alice Hanlon and her husband, Jerry, of Lisbon, as well as three brothers: James Brant and his wife, Connie; William Brant and his wife, Sue; and Richard Brant, all of East Liverpool. Janet also leaves behind two grandchildren, Britney Jordan and Chaz Cunningham, as well as four great-grandchildren: Mikayla Reed, Malachi Reed, Peyton Tanner and Adalyn Cunningham, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Grigaitis.

Friends may visit Friday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park, followed by a time of continued fellowship at the Dawson Family Center.
