Obituary for Mary Jane Schuck (McNicol)

STEUBENVILLE – Mary Jane Schuck, 92, former East Liverpool resident, passed away at Lancia Villa Vista in Steubenville Sunday morning, April 12, 2015.



She was born in East Liverpool on January 16, 1923, a daughter of the late John Thomas and Mary Ellen Walsh McNicol.



For all her life, she was a devout member of St. Aloysius Church. At one time she worked as an operator at the former Bell Telephone Company but her life’s work was being a wife and raising her three sons. She lived most of her life in East Liverpool and resided fifteen years at Foxcrest in Chester, until 2013, when she moved to the Steubenville area.



She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas H. Schuck, on June 28, 1996. The couple met while they both worked for the telephone company and later married on October 19, 1946.



Surviving her are three sons: David L. Schuck and his wife Karen, of Valparaiso, Indiana; Michael J. Schuck and his wife Marion “Bootie”, of Bloomingdale, Ohio; and Richard L. Schuck and his wife Terri, of Atlanta, Georgia.



There are six grandchildren: Eric Schuck, and his wife Molly, Brian Schuck and his wife Melissa, Michele Vantchev, and her husband Stefan, Michael Schuck II, Aaron Schuck and Stefanie Schuck.



Mary Jane also leaves behind five great-grandchildren: Starr Vantchev, Zachary, Ellie, Brady and Noah Schuck, as well as a sister-in-law, Rose McNicol.



In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, John “Bud” McNicol.



Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Wednesday, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Fr. Peter Haladej will conduct a funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.



Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.



Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
