Helen Louise Derrington, 85

CALCUTTA, OH – Helen Louise Derrington, 86, formerly of Old Fredericktown Road, passed away at Heritage Valley Beaver, at 5:44 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2015 after a lengthy illness.

Born on July 30, 1929, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William and Violet Patterson Cunningham.

Helen was a member of the Northside Community Church and she had volunteered in the Calcutta Elementary School library.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Don” Derrington, on June 27, 2009.

Surviving are her three daughters, Janet Christen, and her husband Wayne, of East Liverpool, Deborah Stewart, and her husband, Wayne, of Maumelle, Arkansas, and Melissa O’Hanlon, and her husband Mark, of Kileen, Texas, there is also one son, William Derrington, and his wife Jane, of Newport, Ohio.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren, David Christen, Jeremy Christen, Aaron Stewart, Adam O’Hanlon, Doug O’Hanlon, Eric Derrington, Kristy Foreman and Daniel Derrington, as well as 14 great-grandchildren.

Helen is also survived by a sister, Barbara McCullough, and her husband Richard, of East Liverpool. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded by a sister, Ruth Ann Clark, two grandchildren, Seth and Nikki Stewart and a granddaughter-in-law, Natalie Derrington.

Helen’s request was for no services and her arrangements are being handled by the Dawson Funeral Home.
