Obituary for Minos M. Young Sr.

MINOS M. YOUNG, Sr., 83

LAKELAND, FL -- Minos M. Young, Sr., 83, passed away at his home on Friendship Boulevard in Lakeland, Florida just after 5:00 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2015. He had lived in this area for many years before retiring to Florida.

A son of the late Milton and Hermie Pinkerton Young, he was born on March 6, 1932 in Webbville, Kentucky. He had worked in the finishing mill as a recorder at the former Crucible Steel Corporation until 1982.

A member of the Midland Sportsman Club, Mr. Young also did seasonal work as a scalemaster at the Juice Bowl in Florida. He had attended Trinity Methodist Church in Lakeland.

His wife, Loretta Pridemore Young, survives him at home. They were married on June 16, 1953.

Mr. Young is survived by his son, Clifford Young, and his wife, Carmela, also of Lakeland. There is a granddaughter, Tara Jobe, and her husband Timothy, of East Liverpool, as well as two grandsons, Nathan Young and Drew Young of Lakeland. Minos is also survived by two great-grandchildren Dakota and Jadon.

There are two sisters who survive him, Jewell Klumpp of Salem and Lois Webb of Midland, in addition to his three brothers, Sheridan Young of East Liverpool, Shannon Young of Brunswick and Clinton Young of Fredericktown.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was a son, Minos M. "Max" Young, who died on May 22, 1980, and two brothers, Vernon and Elliott Young.

Friends may visit with the family at the Dawson Funeral Home on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Services will take place at the Dawson Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Joel Adkins. Following the service family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship. Mr. Young will be buried at Riverview Cemetery.
