Obituary for Lynn McIntosh (Smith)

Lynn Smith McIntosh, 68, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at her home on Chester Avenue in Wellsville, and now joins many friends and loved ones who were waiting for her in Heaven.

Born in East Liverpool on June 19, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Winston Smith, Sr., and Naomi “Nan” Childs Smith, who passed away on February 15, 2015.

A 1965 graduate of Wellsville High School, she had spent her lifetime in this area. Prior to her marriage to Blaine “Buck” McIntosh on April 3, 1968, she had been an operator at the former Ohio Bell Telephone Company. Once she became a wife and a mother to her two sons, she took great pride in caring for them. “Buck” survives her at home.

She was a life member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and loved following her sons and grandson as they participated in sporting events, especially football and soccer. An avid Steelers fan, she also enjoyed rooting for the Pirates.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, John McIntosh and his wife, Heidi, of Wellsville. Her other son, Brian “Bubba” McIntosh, passed away in 2002. She also leaves behind her special grandson, Mitchell McIntosh, as well as a brother, Ralph W. Smith, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Canfield, and numerous nieces and nephews. Lynn also leaves many special aunts, uncles and other family members who were always kind to her.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Friday, where the family will be present from 6 to 9 p.m.

Longtime family friend Rev. Willard “Chuck” Adkins will conduct services at the funeral home at noon on Saturday, followed by a continued time of fellowship at the Dawson Family Center. Lynn will be laid to rest at Spring Hill Cemetery.

Contributions in lieu of flowers may be sent to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 401 18th Street, Wellsville, Ohio 43968.

The family wishes to acknowledge the loving care Lynn received from the CHCC health care providers.
