Obituary for Edgar Dale Bolton

East Liverpool native Edgar Dale Bolton passed from this earth into his Heavenly home, in the presence of his family, on Wednesday morning, September 16, 2015. Dale, as he was known by his many friends, died at his home on Leslie Road, where he had been lovingly cared for throughout his illness.

Born September 19, 1956 in East Liverpool, he was a son of Ronald and Beverly Hull Bolton, who survive in East Liverpool. A 1974 graduate of East Liverpool High School, he had been associated with Whemco Steel in Midland, PA for over 30 years, retiring as a foundry superintendent.

Dale married his wife, Patricia Griffin Bolton, in September 2006. Although their time was altogether too short, the two of them felt they’d been given a new lease on life, and filled their days with the things they loved the most, such as taking trips on their Harley Davidson, and riding along country roads – which always included attending the Jamboree in the Hills festival each year. Dale was an enthusiastic NASCAR fan and was also a Hot Wheels car collector.

“Pat” survives him at home. In addition to his parents, Dale also leaves behind his daughter, Deliah Bolton and her companion, Ron Pillar, of New Waterford, along with two sons, Kevin McCune and his wife, Heather, of East Liverpool, and Carl Knight and his wife, Reiko, of San Diego, CA. There are five grandchildren: Wyatt, Mason, Emma, Jesse and Satsuki.

Dale’s siblings survive as well: Rhonda Geer and her husband, Donald, of Ashland; Brenda Young and her husband, Mike, of Wellsville; Paula Becker and her husband, Jim, of Statesboro, GA; Ronald Bolton, Jr. and his companion, Toni, of Chester, and Chris Bolton of Phoenix, as well as a sister-in-law, Sue, who resided at the home. Dale will also be missed by his faithful fur friends, Ginger, Zoey, Molly, Boy and Snowshoe.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Friday, where the family will be present from 2 to 8 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, with Rev. Dr. Stephen Cramer of Trinity Presbyterian Church officiating. Dale will be laid to rest at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Following the burial, family and friends will return to the Dawson Family Center for a meal and a continued time of fellowship.
