Alice J. Krumm, who had made her home in East Liverpool since 1972, passed away at 5:56 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2015 at Heritage Valley, Beaver. She had been ill for several years.

A daughter of the late Arthur Harold “Bill” Gillespie and Florence Mae Zinkan Gillespie, she was born at home in Brighton Township, PA on May 4, 1938, the youngest of four children.

Alice was a graduate of Beaver High School, and then moved to area following the death of her first husband, Clyde M. Rhodes. In 1974, she married Henry D. Krumm, who survives her at home. She was a loving and devoted homemaker, and had been a bowling coach for Special Olympics at one time. Alice also loved rooting for the Pirates and the Steelers.

Raised in the Four-Mile Presbyterian Church in Beaver, she later attended the Church of God in that area.

Surviving her, in addition to her husband, is a daughter, Kimberly Winkleman of East Liverpool, as well as a son, Arthur “Art” Rhodes, at home. There are two granddaughters: Jessica Hull and her husband, Daniel; and Michaela Winkleman, along with a great-granddaughter, Jocelyn Hull, and numerous nieces and nephews. There are also two step-grandchildren, Michele Manley and Robert Raymond, Jr., and a step-great-grandson, Sean Jason Tomlin.

Alice was also preceded in death by a step-son, Harry Rhodes, and by a son-in-law, Kenny Winkleman, along with a sister, Ada Elizabeth “Betty” Gillespie and a brother, Harry Gillespie. Another sister, Ethel Glenn, survives.

A memorial service will take place at the Dawson Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Monday, with Rev. Ernest Peachey of the Second Baptist Church officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
