Obituary for Kathleen M Arnold (Pitts)

Kathleen M. Arnold, longtime Columbiana County resident, died at the age of 93 at Salem Community Hospital on Friday afternoon, November 20, 2015.

A daughter of the late Perle and Florence Fultz Pitts, she was born in Marietta, OH on December 28, 1921. Her family had come to the Wellsville area when she was a young girl, and she later lived in East Liverpool with her first husband, Raymond Barker, who preceded her in death in 1972.

Kathleen was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, and had worked at the former Hill’s Department Store. Upon her marriage to her second husband, Jim Arnold, she moved to Polk, OH, before returning to this area. She had resided in East Palestine for the past 25 years.

She is survived by her son, Greg Barker and his wife, Donna, of Columbus. There are four grandchildren: Vicki Barker, Brenda Higgins and her husband, Scott, Michael Barker, and Randy Finley, along with five great-grandchildren: Sterling Higgins, Robert Higgins, Raymond Higgins, Courtney Barker and Trevor Barker.

Several nieces and nephews survive as well: Debbie Rice, William Stoffel, Michael Stoffel, Larry Olmstead, Earl Olmstead, Lana White and Linda Woolley.

In addition to her parents and both husbands, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Stoffel and Hilda Olmstead.

Services will take place at the Dawson Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, with Evangelist Will Montgomery officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery.
