Obituary for Kimberly K Woomer (Shaneyfelt)

KIMBERLY KAY SHANEYFELT WOOMER, 56

EAST LIVERPOOL – Kim was lifted up by angels to be with her Lord on Wednesday evening, February 3, 2016. She was born in East Liverpool on February 5, 1959, a daughter of the late Donald N. and Marjorie E. Shaneyfelt, who preceded her in death along with her stillborn daughters, Amie Dawn and Danielle Nicole.

She is survived by the “love of her life” and best friend, Robert Woomer, Kim also leaves behind her loving sister, Deanna Plemons and brother-in-law, Lambert, of East Liverpool, along with a sister-in-law, Sue Hammer and her husband, Dieter and their children, Alan Hammer and Trudy Khuen. There is one niece, Michelle Camp; her beloved great-nephew, Jake Angus, and her great-niece and angel, Addison Camp, as well as an aunt, Jean Meinen of Sun City, AZ. She is also survived by many cousins and her true friends on Facebook, and by many children who called her “aunt”; she loved them dearly – and they all know who they are… all of them.

Kim was a 1977 graduate of East Liverpool High School and attended Ohio Valley Business College, graduating in 1978. She later received her accounting degree from Kent State University in 1987.

To date, Kim was the longest elected East Liverpool City Auditor, serving over twenty years as auditor, and had worked in the auditor’s office for ten years before her appointment. She also served on City Council for two years for the Fourth Ward; she truly loved her city and appreciated the support the taxpayers gave her to continue to serve the city.

She was past president of the East Liverpool Jaycees, and was a lifetime member. She was also a past president of the Business and Professional Women’s Association and past treasurer of Quota Club. Kim also served on the executive committee of the Columbiana County Democrat Club, was a past honored queen of the Jobs Daughters #61 and a member of the Moose Lodge #61. She was deeply honored when she received the Boss of the Year award and the Distinguished Service Award for Outstanding Community Service. A Miche distributor, she was also an ordained minister by the State of Ohio. She considered herself gifted by her staff, Marilyn Bosco and Nancy Murray.

Her friends and family will remember her as a “giver” who was happiest when doing for others.

Kim was a member of the First Church of Christ (Disciples).

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Monday, where the family will be present from 2 to 6 p.m.
