Evalyn Bloor Cunningham, 88

COLUMBIANA, OHIO – Evalyn Bloor Cunningham, of East Liverpool, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at the St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Center in Columbiana. She was 88.

Born in Chester, April 6, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Helen Winder Oyster. A resident of the area all her life, she worked as a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Calcutta. Protestant by faith, she was a 1946 graduate of Alliance High School and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, Rural Mail Carriers Association and the Lady Elks Lodge 258.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard K. Bloor, Sr. and her second husband, Alfred Ray Cunningham. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Frederick Stephen “Ned” Bloor and Howard K. “Kenny” Bloor, a sister, Hilda Karikas, and three brothers, Fred Oyster, Charles Oyster and Karl Oyster, Sr.

She is survived by two daughters, Amy S. Bloor of East Liverpool, and Cyndi Welsh of East Liverpool, as well as a son, Leonard “Nick” Bloor of Salem. There are four grandchildren: Heather Welsh, Shaun Welsh, Nedra Bloor and Tom Bloor; along with seven great-grandchildren.

In addition, she is survived by a brother, Wells Oyster of Alliance.

Friends may visit Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Pastor Bill Anzevino will conduct a funeral service Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
