Obituary for Marie Elizabeth Luckhardt (Schatzschneider)

Marie Elizabeth Luckhardt slipped peacefully into Heaven at 7:14 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2016, with her loving family at her side.

She was a daughter of the late John and Ruth Frye Schatzschneider, born in Baltimore on November 24, 1925.

Marie had come to this area in August of 2000 to be nearer to her daughter, Rev. Tanta Luckhardt-Hendricks and her husband, Joe, with whom she resided since becoming ill two years ago. She took great delight in being a part of all their activities, especially those surrounding Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, where she had been a member since coming to East Liverpool. Marie was interested in the lives of others and made everyone she met feel important and special. An avid bowler, she also enjoyed traveling, and made a friend wherever she went.

Marie had also belonged to the Gleaners Lodge of the Eastern Star in Baltimore.

Preceding her in death in 1988 was her husband, J. Frederick Luckhardt, whom she married in 1948.

Surviving is her daughter, Rev. Tanta Luckhardt-Hendricks and her husband, Joe, of East Liverpool.

Friends may visit with the family at the Dawson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Services will be conducted at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Dr. Stephen Cramer officiating. Friends will also be received at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Following the service at the church, friends and family will gather in the Hospitality Hall at the church for a continued time of fellowship and luncheon.

Marie will be laid to rest beside her husband at Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore at a later date.

Those wishing to do so may send contributions in Marie’s name to the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 767 Park Boulevard, East Liverpool, Ohio 43920.
