Obituary for Jasmine Anne Petties-Thompson (Petties)

EAST LIVERPOOL – Jasmine Anné Petties-Thompson passed away Thursday evening, September 1, 2016, at her home. She was 23.

Born in Beaver, October 18, 1992, she is a daughter of Vonda L. Thompson of East Liverpool and James Petties of Weirton. A resident of this area all her life, she attended Second Baptist Church. She loved music and children but above all things she loved her family and was rarely seen without a smile on her face.

In addition to her parents, she leaves behind four sisters, Shartece Taylor-Thompson of East Liverpool, Maela Taylor-Thompson of East Liverpool, Oola Foster of Pennsylvania and Arys Petties of East Liverpool, and a brother, Rico Foster of Midland. She is also survived by her maternal grandparents, Michael B. and Diana Thompson, Sr. of East Liverpool, paternal grandfather, Roylin Petties, Sr. of Midland, maternal great-grandmother, Mary Carter of East Liverpool, three aunts, Alycia L. Thompson of East Liverpool, Chessa A. Thompson-Coleman of Pennsylvania and Adrian Petties of Midland, six uncles, Michael B. Thompson, Jr. and his wife, Maia, of Grove City, Ohio, John N. Thompson of East Liverpool, William K. Thompson of East Liverpool, Blake A. Thompson of Steubenville, Blair A. Thompson of Steubenville, and Roylin Petties, Jr. of East Liverpool.

She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and will be especially missed by cousins whom she considered to be her “babies”: Da’Juan Thompson, Di’Lynn Thompson, Zayden Matthews and Mia Prentice.

Jasmine was preceded in death by her grandparents: Eleanor Carter, Millard Carter, Frank Thompson Sr., Mary Thompson and Brenda Petties, her aunt Darla Thompson and her uncle Ty Thompson.

Pastor Roylin Petties III and Daniel Winston and Rev. Ernest Peachey will conduct a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery.
