HELEN MARIE JONES, 81

CANTON, OHIO – Former East Liverpool resident Helen Marie Jones died peacefully at the age of 81 at 8:00 a.m. Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Aultman Compassionate Care Center in Canton.

Miss Jones was born in East Liverpool on October 27, 1934, a daughter of the late Warren A. and Mary Ellen Creal Jones. She attended St. Aloysius School here, and was a 1952 graduate of East Liverpool High School. She then earned her Bachelor’s degree from Ohio University, and a Master’s degree from Kent State University in Education and Counseling.

For over 55 years, she made her home in Canton, where she had been an educator in the Canton school system, retiring in 1992. While there, she attended St. John’s Basilica in Canton and also St. Michael’s in northwest Canton.

She leaves behind a sister, Margaret A. Jones of Fenton, Michigan, and a brother, Daniel Warren Jones of Weirton, WV, and several nieces and nephews.

A Catholic Funeral Liturgy will take place at St. Aloysius Church, Holy Trinity Parish, at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016, with Father Peter Haladej presiding. Following the service family and friends will continue the time of fellowship at the Dawson Family Center.

Miss Jones will be laid to rest at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
