Obituary for Marian F Haney (Schmidbauer)

EAST LIVERPOOL – Mrs. Marian F. Haney, of Wellsville, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 at her home. She was 82.

Born in East Liverpool, May 31, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence J. and Sophia Cooper Schmidbauer. A member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1953, for many years she lived in Ravenna, Ohio until returning to the area in 2008. Catholic by faith, Marian worked as a nurse’s aide for many years.

She was an avid card player and especially enjoyed playing with her family. While living in Ravenna, she was a member of the Moose Lodge 1234.

Surviving are three children, Gary L. Haney and his companion, Linda, of East Liverpool, Pamela Martin and her husband, Dave, of Delaware, Ohio and Peggy Ann Haney of Wellsville.

She will also be missed by her nine grandchildren, Angela Stone and her husband, Kenneth; Christy Hunter and her husband, Shawn; Jeremiah Smith and his wife, Melissa; Brandy Ellsworth and her husband, David; Daniel Lewis and his wife, Jen; Cynthia Lewis and her companion, Johnny; Gary Haney II and his companion, Amber; Tia Watson and her husband, Jeremy; and Victoria Sutton. There are 15 great-grandchildren.

She also leaves behind six sisters and brothers: Nancy Davidson of Wellsville, Martha McElhaney and her husband, Dave, Richard Schmidbauer and his wife, Debbie, Joseph Schmidbauer and his wife, Nancy, John Schmidbauer and his wife, Susan, and Thomas Schmidbauer and his wife, Penny, all of East Liverpool.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Haney, Jr. on November 2, 2010. The couple married October 3, 1953. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Terrie Smith.

Friends may visit Friday evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4 to 7 p.m.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.

Burial will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park at a later date.
