Obituary for Shirley A Smith (Timmons)

Shirley A. Smith, 77

EAST LIVERPOOL – Shirley A. Smith, of Hammond School Road, Wellsville, passed away suddenly Sunday, January 8, 2017. She was 77.

Born at Meigs County, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Ben and Marie Timmons. She was a member of the Calcutta Church of the Nazarene and taught Sunday school for many years. She worked at the Hall China Company where she retired after 37 years of service. During her retirement years, she worked at the Calcutta Wal-Mart as a product demonstrator.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Smith, at home. The couple married February 14, 1959. She is also survived by two sons, Rob Smith at home, and Michael Smith and his wife, Cheryl, of Huntington, West Virginia, as well as one grandson, Joey Smith of Greenville, Mississippi.

Two sisters survive as well, Thelma Quinn of East Liverpool and Tammy Stansbury and her husband, David, of East Liverpool.

Friends may visit Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4 to 8 p.m. Pastor Jamey Jackson of the Calcutta Church of the Nazarene will conduct a funeral service Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Calcutta Cemetery.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
