Rita L. Gott, 89

SPRING HILL, FL – Rita L. Gott, of Spring Hill, Florida, formerly of East Liverpool, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 at her home following a lengthy illness. She was 89.

Born in East Liverpool, March 30, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Carl Sanford Smith and Lillian Louise Sigler Smith. A resident of this area until moving to Florida in 1984, she was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1945.

A member at one time of the former 1st Assembly of God Church in Calcutta, she also worked at D. M. Ogilvie & Company at one time.

She is survived by her husband, Robert W. Gott, whom she married July 30, 1969. She also leaves a daughter, Cindy Veness of Lisbon, a son, Robert J. Veness of Grand Prairie, Texas, and a step-son, Paul Robert Gott and his wife, Kristeena, of Port Richey, Florida. There are also seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Rita will also be fondly remembered by her friend, companion and caregiver Pearl Valencia.

Friends may visit Thursday from 10 to 12 noon at the Dawson Funeral Home. Pastor Cody Berry of the Destiny House will conduct a graveside funeral service at Columbiana County Memorial Park immediately following visitation.
