Obituary for Mary Tambellini (Nentwick)

Mary Nentwick Tambellini, 88

EAST LIVERPOOL – Mary Nentwick Tambellini, of East Liverpool, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman following a lengthy illness. She was 88.

Born in East Liverpool, December 21, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Norbert R. and Marie B. Maher Nentwick. A devoted member of Holy Trinity Parish, she supported nearly every area of the church, especially St. Aloysius School. She was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1946 and was a member of the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association.

Mary was the first woman on the East Liverpool Board of Public Utilities where she served as its Chairperson at one time.

For many years, she and her husband operated the Nentwick Convalescent Home together. The Tambellini’s were well known and respected by the countless residents and employees whom they cared for and treated as their own family.

Mary is survived by two daughters: Julie Stoddard and her husband, Richard “Butch”, and Mimi Tambellini and her husband Jason Croxall, all of East Liverpool.

She will be sadly missed by her four grandchildren; Richard Stoddard of East Liverpool, Brian Stoddard and his wife, Sarah, of Columbus, Paxton Croxall of East Liverpool, and Alex Tambellini of East Liverpool, as well as 11 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas E. Nentwick, James L. Nentwick and Fr. John R. Nentwick.

Father Christopher Cicero will preside at a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the James J. Hocking Center (formerly St. Aloysius School). Following the Mass, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.

Memorial tributes may take the form of contributions in care of Holy Trinity Parish.
