Obituary for Mary Lou Holland (Beaver)

On Thursday, March 2, 2017, Mary Lou Howard Holland passed away at 2:08 p.m. at East Liverpool City Hospital, following a brief illness. A longtime resident of Birch Road in East Liverpool, she was 84.

Born on November 9, 1932 in East Liverpool, she was a daughter of the late Joshua and Grace Beaver Wolfe. Mary Lou was a 1951 graduate of East Liverpool High School and had spent her lifetime in this area, with the exception of ten years when she lived in California. Many would remember her from the former 7&30 Superette, where she worked for several years.

A devoted mom and grandma, she loved the time spent with her family, and also enjoyed bowling and working puzzle books.

She was preceded in death in 1971 by her husband, Linberg Howard. She later married Lee Holland, who also preceded her in death.

Surviving is a daughter, Grace Howard of East Liverpool, and a son, Jack Howard and his wife, Janess, of Wellsville. There are three grandchildren: Michael Travis and his wife, Marcie, Tina Travis, and Rachel Beagle and her husband, Joshua, as well as seven great-grandchildren. Mary Lou also leaves behind her beloved feline companions.

Also surviving is a sister, Betty Snodgrass, of Washington. Preceding her in death was a sister, Eleanor Arnold, and three brothers, Earl Beaver, Edward Beaver ad Victor Beaver.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Sunday, where the family will be present from 4 to 6 p.m.

Pastor Larry Rose of Northside Community Church will officiate at a service to be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 a.m.

Mary Lou will be laid to rest at Longs Run Cemetery. Following the burial, family and friends will gather at Northside Church for a continued time of remembrance and a luncheon.
