SHIRLEY ANN BLEIGH, 86

CITRUS CITY, FL – Shirley Ann Walker Bleigh, who had lived in this area for most of her life, passed away at the Hospice House of Florida in Citrus City at 8:46 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 with her family at her side.

Shirley was a daughter of the late Gilbert O. Shaw and Leah C. Loughley Shaw, born at home in Chester on October 23, 1930.

A 1948 graduate of the former Chester High School, she married Christy Earl “Bud” Walker on January 12, 1951. She and Bud lived in various states while he was serving in the military, and eventually relocated to East Liverpool in 1967. Although she was a part-time beautician, she was most devoted to caring for her home and family.

She had been a member of the St. Clair Avenue Church of Christ and also the Lisbon Church of Christ.

Bud preceded her in death on July 6, 1994. She later married William Bleigh on February 14, 2002, and he passed away on June 13, 2013.

Surviving is her son, Mark E. Walker and his wife, Rhonda, of East Liverpool, and two grandchildren, Ryan Walker, and his wife Lisa of Imperial, PA, and Tiffany Charpia, and her husband Will of South Carolina. There are five great-grandchildren, Paige, Gauge, Hayden, Domonic and Blake, as well as a brother, James G. Shaw and his wife, Aquilla, of Hernando, FL.

Shirley was preceded in death by two sons, Terry R. Walker and David Earl Walker, along with one grandson, Christopher Walker.

The family will receive friends at the Dawson Funeral Home from 3:30 pm. To 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

Evangelist Will Montgomery of the St. Clair Ave. Church of Christ will officiate at a service to be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Shirley will be laid to rest at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell.
