Obituary for Paul G. Davner

PAUL G. DAVNER, 85

EAST LIVERPOOL – Paul G. Davner, of East Liverpool Road, passed away at the age of 85 on Tuesday evening, May 23, 2017 at East Liverpool City Hospital.

A son of the late Joseph and Lillian Fellesky Davner, Paul was born at home in Leetonia on September 14, 1931. He had spent his lifetime in this area.

A Korean War veteran, he served with the U.S. Army from October, 1952 to September, 1954. He was retired from Stuart Auto Body in Georgetown, PA after working in the body shop at Zimmerman’s Buick-Oldsmobile. Paul also sold cars in Lisbon at one time and had loved working on cars his whole life.

His wife, Dorothy Doughty Davner, survives him at home. They were married June 24, 1981.

Two daughters and one son also survive: Linda Watson and her husband, Jeff, of Salem; Patty Thornhill of Lisbon; and Paul “Eddie” Davner and his wife, Michelle, of Minerva. A step-son, John Eaton and his wife, Camelia, survive in East Liverpool.

There are three grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren, Ashley Faulkner and her husband, Joseph, and Drew Eaton. Two step-great-grandchildren, Ezekiel Faulkner and Keremy Eaton, also survive, as well as a sister, Irene Pahanish of Lisbon.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Chamberlain, by a son, Robert Davner, a brother, Joseph Davner, and a granddaughter.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Friday, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Pastors Robert and Pam Kidd will officiate at a service to be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will provide full military honors. Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
