Raymond D. Roe, 86

East Liverpool - Raymond D. Roe, Sr. of East Liverpool, passed away Sunday, June 11th, 2017 at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center, Columbiana. He was 86.

Born in Chester, West Virginia, November 22, 1930, he was a son of the late Ross and Ethel Brewer Roe. A member of First Church of Christ (Disciples), he worked at the East Liverpool Board of Public Utilities until his retirement.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of VFW Post 66, the American Legion Post 374 and a lifetime member of the John W. Covert Chapter 47 of the Disabled American Veterans.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elinor N. Ellis Roe, on November 24, 2008. The couple married May 21, 1957. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Loy and three brothers, Jim, Virgil and Kenneth Roe.

Survivors include two daughters, Ella Mae Kennedy and her husband, Kenneth, of East Liverpool and June Lee Boley and her husband, John, of East Palestine; and a son, Raymond D. Roe, Jr., of Wellsville.

There are three grandchildren, Angela Miller and her husband, Scott, Joshua Boley and his wife, Stephanie, and Raymond J.R. Roe, as well as three great-grandchildren, Chelsea Boyd, and Cody and Ricky Brightwell, along with three great-great-grandchildren, Marissa, Isaiah and Nicholas Boyd.

Friends may visit Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Rev. Willard “Chuck” Adkins will conduct a funeral service Thursday, at 11:00 a.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will conduct military honors.
