Obituary for Ralph Volino

Ralph Volino, 97

East Liverpool – Ralph Volino, 97, of Oakmont Avenue, passed away Thursday June 22, 2017 at 9:24 p.m. following a brief illness.

A Wellsville native, Ralph was born on November 25, 1919. He was a son of the late Joseph Luigi and Josephine (Sepe) Volino. He was also a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Alaska during World War II.

Ralph was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Julia DeCapio Volino and also by Josephine Cataldo Volino, whom he married May 27, 1989. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Magio and Anna Volino, and four brothers; Rocco, Sam, Emanuel and Michael Volino.

In his earlier years, Ralph was self-employed and co-owner of the Volino Brothers Block Works. He then belonged to Local #154 out of Pittsburgh as a boilermaker. He then started in the car wash business and built his first carwash in the east end of East Liverpool. Ralph was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends. He was an avid vegetable gardener, always happy to share the fruits of his labor for those in need. He was happiest with a shovel in his hands.

A caring father, Ralph is survived by his four children; Diana Crea (Steve), Michael (Debra) Volino, Ronald (Joni) Volino and Patricia Madish; all of East Liverpool. There are ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A sister also survives; Fannie Jarvis of EastLiverpool and two brothers, Dominic Volino of East Liverpool and JamesVolino and his wife Esther, of Wellsville.

Friends may visit Sunday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4 to 7 p.m. Rev. Eric Edwards of the St. John Lutheran Church will conduct a funeral service Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park Cemetery where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will conduct military honors.

Following the cemetery service friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
