Obituary for Randall Eric Lawson

Randall Eric “Randy” Lawson, born and raised in East Liverpool, passed away at 6:10 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 at the age of 58. He was surrounded at the time of his death by his family who has supported him with loving care throughout his tough battle with cancer. Randy now joins his wife, Jaye Lynn, who preceded him in death on May 22, 2004.

A beloved son of Donald R. and Jeanette Elliott Lawson of East Liverpool, Randy was born here on September 27, 1958. He was a 1977 graduate of East Liverpool High School and had spent most of his life working as an auto mechanic, years ago at Brittain Motors, but mostly for himself as owner and operator of Auto Tech. Well-known as one who could fix anything, he was always one of the first to lend a hand to a friend in need.

He will be missed the most by his daughter, Nicole Carroll, who survives in Irondale with her husband, Jerrett and their children, Allisyn, Lynsey and Jerrett II.

Randy also leaves behind a sister, Penny Rombach and her husband, Bill, of Washington, MO, along with three brothers: Don Lawson, Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, of Bridgeport, OH; Craig Lawson and his wife, Arlene, of East Liverpool; and Jeff Lawson and his wife, Tina, of Lisbon, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He will also be missed at the lunch counter at Hoge’s Restaurant – especially by his close friend, Cathy Dray, who has been a faithful companion to Randy for many years.

Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home, where a memorial service will take place at 7 p.m. with Dr. Robert B. Sylvies officiating. Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for a continued time of fellowship.

A private burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, monetary gifts may be made to the family or funeral home in order to help with expenses.
