Obituary for Harry B Kincaid

RAILEIGH, NC - Harry B. “Sonny” Kincaid II, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the age of 86.

Born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on December 28, 1930, he was the son of the late Harry B. Kincaid I and Maude Hailston.

Harry was a graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in Business Admin and past President of the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity. It was there that he met his beloved wife Norma Jean Harpold. After serving in the U.S. Army, he returned to West Virginia University for a Masters Degree.

Harry retired from Kennametal after 34yrs as Director of Global Logistics then lovingly cared for his wife Norma until her passing in 2005. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Cary, North Carolina and past President of the Rotary and Kiwanis Club in Ligonier, PA. In addition, he volunteered his time to both the Glenaire facility and Wake Medical Center in Cary, NC.

He is survived by a son, John Kincaid and his wife, Karen of Raleigh, NC; sister-in-law Pauline Yanko of Huron, OH, brother-in-law Wayne Harpold and wife Marie of New Cumberland, WV; nephew Jan Harpold and wife Dorie of Weirton, WV; nieces Mecca Thayer of E. Liverpool, OH, Toni Swartling and husband Jim of Martinsville, IN, Lucy Baker and husband Tim of Dayton, OH along with many great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted by Rev’d Steven McKeown at the Dawson Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 in East Liverpool, OH. Donations may be made to the Cancer Society or Alzheimer research.
