Obituary for Floyd Dale Minor

Floyd Dale Minor, 76

EAST LIVERPOOL – Floyd Dale Minor, of Macrum Street, East Liverpool, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Salem West Healthcare Center following a lengthy illness. He was 76.

Born in Somerset, Ohio, March 12, 1942, he was a son of the late Howard B. Minor and Lavada Springer Minor. A 1962 graduate of Stanton Local High School, he moved to this area in the early 1960s and worked at Timet titanium plant in Toronto. He also worked at the former Crucible Steel Company, PCC in Minerva and Twister Display.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, he was in the U.S. Army. Floyd loved watching football, especially when he was cheering for the Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Lee “Sandy” Davis Minor at home. The couple married October 8, 1970. There are two daughters, Sandy Fryman and her husband, Mark, of East Liverpool, and Jan Hunt and her husband, Donny, of East Liverpool, as well as a son, Jeff Minor and his wife, Linda, of Minerva.

He also leaves seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and a brother John Minor and his wife, Peg, of Wellsville and a step-brother Randy Minor of New Somerset.

He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Sarah Minor, two sisters, Mary Belle Christy and Barbara Mervine, four brothers, Ralph, Virgil, Jerry and Bob Minor and a step-brother Tim Minor.

Friends may visit Monday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Evangelist Jason Cole of the Lake Mount Church of Christ will conduct a funeral service Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
