DONALD W. COOK, 76

EAST LIVERPOOL – Devoted husband and cherished father, grandfather, brother and friend Donald W. “Don” Cook passed away at East Liverpool City Hospital at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2017. Don, who resided in East Liverpool, was 76.

A son of the late Robert and Alma Buchholz Cook, he was born in Rochester, PA on February 17, 1941 and was a 1959 graduate of Beaver Falls High School. He proudly served his country with the U.S Marine Corps.

Following his time in the service, Don worked at the former Goodyear Tire in downtown East Liverpool, and later became associated with First Energy at the Bruce Mansfield Plant, where he worked for over 20 years as a maintenance foreman, retiring in 1998.

On October 26, 1964, he married his love, Mary, and together they thoroughly enjoyed raising their family and spending time with their grandchildren (especially when it involved all-inclusive vacations). Don belonged to the Tri-State Tour Riders motorcycles group, and he – along with Mary – had ridden their motorcycle through all of the US states, most of Canada and much of Europe.

He loved being busy and helping others – and had spent a great deal of time on various woodworking projects for the Columbiana County Humane Society. Don appreciated the outdoors and belonged to the former Wilderness Adventures Canoe Club. He left a mark wherever he went, and will surely be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to Mary, who survives him at home, he leaves behind a daughter, Brenda Arcuragi and her husband, Timothy, of East Liverpool, and a son, Eric Cook and his wife, Carrie, of Lisbon. There are five grandchildren: Maria Arcuragi, Anna Arcuragi, Mileena Cook, Nathaniel Cook, and Makayla Arcuragi.

Don also leaves behind a sister, Marjean Stephenson and her husband, Tom, of Beaver Falls. Preceding him in death were two brothers, Jerry Cook and Dennis Cook.

Friends may visit with the family at the Dawson Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Evangelist Will Montgomery of the St. Clair Avenue Church of Christ will officiate at a service to be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will take place at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for a continued time of fellowship and a meal following the service.
