CHRISTINA M. YOUNG WHILE, 46

GIRARD – Christina M. Young While, born in East Liverpool on December 23, 1970, passed away at 8:13 a. m. Friday, October 6, 2017 at her residence from a sudden illness. “Tina”, as she was known was 46.

A daughter of Richard G. Young of Wellsville, and the late Lois McCollam Young, Tina was a 1989 graduate of Beaver Local High School and received her B.A. in Education from Westminster College.

She had belonged to the Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church prior to leaving the area to pursue her education. Tina had then taught at the Akiva Academy in Youngstown as well as in schools in Louisiana before returning to the Youngstown area in the late 1990’s.

In 2012 Tina was recognized as the “2012 Volunteer of the Year” with the Multiple Sclerosis Services Agency of North Lima where she continued to be a volunteer.

Surviving her at home is her husband Brian J. While. They were married on October 23, 2000.

Christina’s sister, Catherine E. “Taffi” Young of Austintown, survives as well as her maternal grandmother, Catherine “Kitty” McCollam of Canal Fulton, Ohio.

The family will receive friends at the Dawson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m.

Evangelist Will Montgomery of the St. Clair Avenue Church of Christ will officiate at a service to be held at the funeral home at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Christina will be laid to rest at Yellow Creek Cemetery.
