Dolores Jean Simms, 88

Glenmoor - Dolores Jean Simms of Wyoming Avenue, Glenmoor passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Salem Regional Medical Center. She was 88.

Born in East Liverpool, May 25, 1930, she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Runyon Wasson. A lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker, a member of the Yellow Creek Grange, and the 1st Church of Christ (Disciples). At one time, she worked at the former TS&T Pottery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard D. Simms, whom she married September 22, 1949. Survivors include two sons, Robert D. Simms and his wife, Shelley of East Liverpool and William A. Simms and his wife, Phoebe of Glenmoor.

There are six grandchildren: Melissa Tullier (Ray), Bobby Simms (Brande), Danielle Howard (Steven), Katie Ketchum (Andrew), Kam Hays, and Seth Hindes (Veronica); nine great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild on the way.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, William C. Wasson and a niece.

Friends may visit Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4 to 8 p.m. Evangelist Will Montgomery will conduct a funeral service Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Calcutta Cemetery.
