Obituary for Thomas Gene Densmore Sr.

Thomas G. Densmore, Sr., 88

EAST LIVERPOOL – Thomas G. Densmore, Sr., of East Liverpool, passed away Monday morning, December 11, 2017 at the home of his daughter following a lengthy illness. He was 88.

Born in East Liverpool, August 14, 1929, he was a son of the late Arnold A. and Marjorie Croxall Densmore. A resident of this area all his life, he worked out of the Bricklayers and Allied Crafts Union Local 10 since 1946. For over 30 years he served as the organization’s secretary-treasurer. A faithful member of Holy Trinity Parish, for many years he was an usher. Tom loved to golf.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served from 1951 to 1953 and then continued to serve an additional six years in the U.S. Army Reserves.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Louise Hall Densmore, whom he married April 21, 1951. There are two daughters, Judy King and her husband, Andrew, of East Liverpool, and Margaretta Lynn “Greta” Burton and her husband, Rich, of Lisbon. He also leaves behind six grandchildren: Jeremy Miller, Michael Metz, Heather Zema, Megan Densmore, Alexandrea Densmore and Kelsey Densmore; as well as five great-grandchildren: Alex, Michael, Keira, Grady and Brody; along with a daughter-in-law Rae Ann Densmore of Cumming, Georgia.

Also left to cherish his memory is a sister Margie Davis and her husband, Robert, of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas G. Densmore, Jr., and two brothers, Arnold Dean Densmore and Jack Densmore.

Friends may visit Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4 to 7 p.m. Fr. Peter Haladej will conduct a funeral service Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will conduct military honors.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
