Obituary for Keith M. Allison Jr.

KEITH M. ALLISON, JR., 74

EAST LIVERPOOL -- Keith M. Allison, Jr., 74, died at the Trinity West Hospital in Steubenville at 9:38 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2018. Throughout his difficult illness, he had been lovingly cared for by his sister, Beth, in the home they shared on Homestead Boulevard in East Liverpool.

He was a son of the late Keith Manson Allison, Sr. and Mary Ann Allison, born in East Liverpool on September 27, 1943.

A 1963 graduate of East Liverpool High School, Keith was a proud American and joined the United States Air Force September of 1963 during the Vietnam War and completed three tours of duty. He was a Disaster Preparedness and Chemical Weapons instructor for the Air Force, retiring in 1986.

Keith had a lifelong fascination with airplanes, and enjoyed fishing and building model cars and studying Astronomy. An avid reader, he was a self-proclaimed Civil War buff. His knowledge of many subjects, and his interest in others endeared him to all who knew him; his presence lit up the room.

A longtime member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, Keith also belonged to the VFW Post #5647 in Wellsville, and American Legion Post #374 in East Liverpool. He was a 23 year member of AA and had mentored and encouraged many others over the years.

His two sisters survive: Beth Allison-Christy and her husband, Ron, with whom he resided, and Shirley Pallard and her husband, Robert, of North Lima, Ohio. A brother, Clark S. Allison, passed away in 2016.

Keith was a proud uncle to Kaileigh Christy, Allison Pallard, Stephen Pallard and his wife, Melissa and Holly Myers and her husband, Jonathon. He also leaves behind a great-niece, Addison, and two great-nephews, Mason and Ashton.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Rev. Tanta Luckhardt-Hendricks and Nancy DeStefano will preside at a service to be held at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will accord full military honors at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens where the interment will take place.

Following the burial, family and friends will gather at the church fellowship hall for a continued time of remembrance.
