Obituary for Helen E. Marshall (Burns)

Helen E. Marshall, of McDonald Street, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the Salem Regional Medical Center. She was 85.

Born in East Liverpool, July 21, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Dwight and Estella Evans Burns. She lived her entire lifetime in this area and was a 1951 graduate of East Liverpool High School.

For many years, she worked at the Dawson Funeral Home where she would clean along with her duties as a beautician. She was also involved in the Elks Lodge #258, where she ran the kitchen for many years, and was a past president of the Lady Elks. Helen also enjoyed bowling and belonged to the USBC and several area bowling leagues.

Her husband, Charles “Mick” Marshall, died June 18, 1991. They married December 1, 1956. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Theda “Teddy” Harman, Phyllis I. Marshall and Patricia L. “Pattie” Graham, along with her fur baby, Pumpkin.

There are two daughters, Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Bonnick and her husband, Wilbert, of Kissimmee, Florida, and Tracey Marshall of East Liverpool. She was “Maws” to three grandchildren: Bobbi Jo DeSpain and her husband, Mike; Trish Neal and her husband, Rich; and Courtney Weyand and her fiancé Brandon Kastor, along with seven great-grandchildren: Dominic, Zachary, Trenton, Ethan, Caleb, Aiden and Adyson.

Friends may visit Wednesday , December 27 at the Dawson Funeral Home ,where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Evangelist Will Montgomery will conduct a funeral service Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
