Obituary for Patricia J. Allison (Snyder)

PATRICIA J. SNYDER ALLISON, 84

EAST LIVERPOOL – Patricia J. “Pat” Snyder Allison, 84, longtime office manager at Cooper Insurance, passed away suddenly in the Emergency Room at East Liverpool City Hospital early Friday morning, December 29, 2017.

She was born at home in Wellsville on September 21, 1933, the only daughter of the late Roy Wesley Snyder and Grace Elizabeth Ferguson Snyder. Pat was raised knowing the love and security that came from having eight brothers and a large extended family who remained close throughout her life.

A 1952 graduate of East Liverpool High School, Pat later became involved in the ELHS Alumni Association, and loved attending her class reunions and the Olde Guard Luncheon every year. Following high school, she attended The Ohio State University, and was graduated from the Ohio Valley Business College.

For over 42 years, she was the familiar and helpful voice on the phone at Cooper Insurance until her retirement in 2014, and was well known for her kindness to all. In her spare time, Pat enjoyed playing golf, bowling, reading, sewing, visiting nursing homes, and helping those who needed it the most. Most recently, she had been attending the First United Methodist Church in East Liverpool.

Her husband, Harold L. “True” Allison preceded her in death on April 15, 2006. Pat and True were married on April 28, 1956 and proudly raised their family together here.

Their two sons survive: Jeff Allison and his wife, Janie, of Columbus, and Rick Allison and his companion, Wanda Laughlin, of East Liverpool. There are three grandchildren: Lindsay Styer and her husband, Nick; Daniel Allison and his wife, Julie; and Caitlyn Allison, as well as two great-grandchild, Peyton and Henry, and many loving nieces and nephews. Two brothers also survive, Claude Snyder of Vandalia, and Clarence “Duke” Snyder of Florida.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Pat was preceded in death by six of her brothers: George Snyder, Bob Snyder, Don “Doc” Snyder, Norman Snyder, Thomas W. Snyder, and Roy W. Snyder.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Tuesday, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Pastor Larry Hukill will conduct a service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m.

Pat will be buried next to her husband at Columbiana County Memorial Park. Following the cemetery service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.

Those wishing to do so may send monetary gifts in lieu of flowers to the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association, 216 East Fourth Street, East Liverpool, Ohio 43920.
