Obituary for John M. Carroll

John M. Carroll, 66

BEAVER – John M. Carroll, of Carroll Road in Calcutta, passed away Tuesday morning, February 6, 2018 at Brighton Rehabilitation & Wellness Center in Beaver following a lengthy illness. He was 66.

Born in East Liverpool, July 17, 1951, he was a son of the late Ross and Ruth McGonigal Carroll. A member of the U.S. Army, he was a veteran of the Vietnam War after attending Beaver Local High School.

John had worked at the former Crucible Steel Company at one time and he had last worked at Elger’s in Salem.

John is survived by his wife, Patricia Maggard Carroll, at home. There is one daughter, Margaret Carroll of Calcutta, as well as two sons, James Carroll of East Liverpool and Rick Carroll of Ashburn, Virginia. He will also be sadly missed by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a son, Dan Carroll, by his two sisters, Jane Young and Nancy Patterson, and by his two brothers, Paul Carroll and Allen “Gene” Carroll.

Friends may visit Friday at the funeral home where the family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m. Rev. Don Cochran will conduct a funeral service Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will conduct full military honors.
