Evelyn Shanks Zubick, 100

TUSCON, ARIZONA - Evelyn Shanks Zubick, 100, went to the Lord peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2018 at her home in Arizona.

She was born in Wellsville on October 20, 1917 to the late John & Elizabeth Pringle Shanks. Evelyn resided in East Liverpool most of her life, moving to Arizona in 2010 to be near her son. She was a member of Boyce Methodist Church before moving.

Evelyn is survived by her two sons, Gerald Michael “Mick” Zubick and his wife Beverly, of Springfield, Florida, and James Richard “Jim” Zubick of Tuscon, Arizona. She is survived by five grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, as well as her special niece Peggy Lloyd who she considered a sister.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Nick of 56 years who passed away on November 24, 1990, her brothers John, Austin, Ray and her sister Adeline Mason.

Friends may visit Sunday afternoon at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Family and friends will then gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.

Interment will be at Spring Grove Cemetery in East Liverpool.
