Obituary for Betty Jane Parsons (Richey)

Betty Jane Parsons, 99

Mt. Pleasant, SC – Betty Jane Parsons, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, formerly of East Liverpool, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 at her home. She was 99.

Born in Chester, February 18, 1918, she was the second daughter of the late William Homer and Blanche Loughley Richey. A graduate of East Liverpool High School, she then attended Ohio Valley Business College. She was a member of the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association.

Betty retired as Vice President of The Lomas and Nettleton Company Phoenix office, the mortgage division of The Lomas and Nettleton Financial Corporation of Dallas, Texas. She was also a member of the company Human Resources Committee.

On October 21, 1949 she married Robert Lewis Parsons and the couple moved to Phoenix in November of 1953. She and her husband were former members of Westminster Presbyterian Church and after moving to Phoenix they attended Morningside Presbyterian Church.

In October of 1997 Betty and Robert moved to Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina where Robert died February 8, 1999.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Thelma Blanche Goddard.

She is survived by two sisters, Marjorie Eiserhardt and Mary Lou Kennedy, both of Mt. Pleasant.

Friends may visit Monday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Rev. Trina Lewis will conduct a funeral service Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Memorial tributes may take the form of contributions in care of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 508 Indiana Ave, Chester, WV 26034.
