Obituary for Robert A. "Bob" Manecke

Robert A. Manecke, 79

EAST LIVERPOOL – Robert A. Manecke of Eagle Drive in Calcutta, passed away Monday afternoon, March 5, 2018, at the East Liverpool City Hospital. He was 79.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, July 12, 1938, he was a son of the late Emil and Emma Wolf Manecke. A US Army veteran of the Korean War, Bob was also a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh having earned his degree in accounting.

Bob had a 44 year accounting career in the steel industry, starting with J&L Steel in Pittsburgh and retiring from LTV Steel. He was a Presbyterian by faith, a volunteer with Junior Achievement and enjoyed playing bridge and golf in his spare time.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Hocking Manecke at home, his two sons, John Manecke, and his partner Ernest Harris, of Arlington, Virginia, and Keith Manecke and his wife Kristina Emick, of Clintonville, Ohio.

In addition to his parents Bob was preceded by sister Mary Lou Ahr and brother Fred Manecke.

Father Peter Haladej of Holy Trinity Parish will conduct a memorial service Saturday at 12 noon at the Dawson Funeral Home where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
