ROBERT J. BOURNE, SR., 90

EAST LIVERPOOL – Robert J. Bourne, Sr., born in East Liverpool on May 29, 1927, passed away peacefully at his home on Broadview Circle at 6:03 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018. He was 90.

A son of the late Joseph and Sylvia Christian Bourne, Bob had spent his entire life in this area and was a graduate of East Liverpool High School. He was a veteran of the US Air Force during WW II having served his country in Germany.

Bob had retired from the former Crucible Steel Company following over 40 years of service in the Stainless Steel Department and he also operated his own refrigeration and air conditioning business. He was an active member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.

Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, June Moore Bourne, his three daughters, Gaye Brown, and her husband William, of Granville, Sandy Wassam, and her husband Floyd, of Akron, and Margie Courtney, and her husband Pat, of Wooster, as well as his son, Robert J. Bourne, Jr., and his wife Dana, of Findlay. There are ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a sister Freda Ice, and a brother William Bourne.

A funeral service will be held at the Dawson Funeral Home at 3 p.m. on Saturday with Evangelist Will Montgomery. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Cemetery where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will conduct full military honors.
