Obituary for Anita L. Montgomery

Anita L. Montgomery, 67

EAST LIVERPOOL – Anita L. Montgomery, faithful wife, mother, grandmother and Christian, of St. Clair Avenue, passed away suddenly Thursday evening, March 15, 2018, at the East Liverpool City Hospital Emergency Room. She was 67.

Born in East Liverpool, June 7, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Carl E. and Donna L. Miller. A member of the Wellsville High School Class of 1968, she later graduated from the Ohio Valley Business College. For many years she worked as the office manager at the former Johnson Pontiac in Wellsville. She later worked as a secretary for several area businesses.

Anita married Willard M. Montgomery April 18, 1970 and shortly after they began to attend the Virginia Avenue Church of Christ. Their relationship with Christ and the friendship of the late Evangelist Frank Higginbotham led them to serve the St. Clair Avenue Church of Christ. For 37 years, Anita served beside her husband as the church’s secretary and number one supporter of the ministry. She also taught children’s’ Bible study class at the church.

She also leaves a daughter, Tracy Knight and her husband, John, and two loving grandchildren: Tyler and Jocelin Knight.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Ronald Eugene Miller.

Evangelist Steve Stevens, of the Church of Christ in Hundred, West Virginia will conduct a funeral service at 4:00 p.m. Monday at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit 4 hours prior to the service at the funeral home from noon to 4 p.m.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
