I never met anyone who could cook like Pearl.  When Sherry first introduced me to her parents it was at a picnic and I was floored at the amount of home made food on display.  Everyone was talking and laughing and filling their plates. And it was always the same at every gathering for years and years and years.  I always was sure to starve myself before going to Pearl's house because there was going to be loads and loads of good home cooked food.  I will never forget home made cherry filled cookies and homemade cinnamon rolls.  I always got the "special" ones.
