Obituary for Vivian Loretta Carson (Costello)

Vivian Costello Carson, 81

Pittsboro, N.C.- Vivian Costello Carson, of Winston-Salem, N.C., formerly of East Liverpool, died Monday , May 14, 2018.

Born in East Liverpool, November 16, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Roy C. and Loretta H. Costello. She graduated from the Laurel School in Shaker Heights, Ohio in 1954 and attended Skidmore College. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. "Dick" Carson, on December 13, 2017. The couple married on December 28, 1957. She was also preceded in death by a sister Carol Costello Leary.

Vivian is survived by her two daughters: Nancy Carson McGuffin and her husband, James Stewart McGuffin, of Chapel Hill, N. C. and their son Carson Stewart McGuffin of Raleigh, N.C.; and Sally Carson Gaines and her husband Randy Patrick Gaines, of Bethesda, Md. and their children, Megan Vivian and Ryan Patrick Gaines.

A sister survives as well, Alice "Bonnie" Costello Peterson and her husband, Göte, of Sweden; and Mrs. Charles (Mary Lou) Morley of Sebring, Ohio.

A graveside service will be conducted Monday, May 21 at 10:00 at Riverview Cemetery.

Those wishing to do so may make monetary gifts in Vivian's memory to Chapel of the Cross, Chapel Hill, N. C., or the Alzheimer’s Association.
