Obituary for William Lewis Logue

William Lewis Logue, 87

Los Angeles CA – Area native William (Bill) Logue passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018. He was the son of the late Virgil and Myrtle Vaughn Logue, born on November 24, 1930 in Newell. He was a graduate of Wells High School and received a B.S. degree from WVU.

William enlisted and served with the Army during the Korean War. He trained as an O.R. Tech and was stationed in Puerto Rico. After receiving an honorable discharge, he returned to Morgantown and earned his Master’s Degree in Biology. Upon graduation, he moved to CA and taught Advanced Placement Biology at Beverly Hills High School for over thirty years.

Although he had no children, he was a much loved friend and uncle. He is survived by a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Helen Logue Thorne, Margaret Logue Stewart, Pauline Logue Elkins, Betty Logue Dombrowski and Hazel Logue; four brothers: Harry, Hollis, Herman and Clarence (Arch) Logue; two infant siblings and two nephew and two niece.

William will be laid to rest beside his parents at Locust Hill Cemetery on August 4, 2018. Fr. Jeeson Stephan will conduct memorial service at the cemetery chapel at 2 p.m. Burial will follow. The Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will conduct military honors.

Local arrangements are being handled by the Dawson Funeral Home.
