William “Bill” Dean Kidder, Jr., 75

PITTSBURGH – William “Bill” Dean Kidder, Jr., 75, of East Liverpool, passed away Sunday morning, June 10, 2018 at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh following a lengthy illness.

Born in East Liverpool, May 31, 1943, he was a son of the late William Dean Sr. and Marcella Manning Kidder. A lifetime area resident, Bill was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1961. He attended Baldwin Wallace University and The Ohio State University where he studied civil engineering. As a child Bill attended Grace United Presbyterian Church.

Bill worked for State of Ohio as a highway construction inspector for 9 years and then the Columbiana County Highway Department for 21 years in same capacity before retiring. He then was a part-time delivery person for the former Sevey's Pharmacy.

In retirement Bill could be found either at the Tri-State lanes bowling, or Cedar Hills Golf Club enjoying the outdoors. He also loved helping his sons work on their homes. He was a great supporter of his wife Judy, and called himself her “administrative assistant”.

Surviving Bill is his wife of 54 years, Judy Erickson Kidder, whom he married on June 15, 1963. He also leaves a daughter: Laura Kidder Swain, and her husband Steve, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, as well as two sons, Mike Kidder, and his wife Nancy, and Dean Kidder and his wife Ruthie, both of East Liverpool. There are five grandchildren: Chad and Jared Swain, Dylan and Allie Kidder, and Michael Kidder. There are three step-grandchildren, Bill and Loni Garren and Amber Swain. Also surviving are two step-great-grandchildren, Abigail Spears and Navessa Sando.

He also is survived by his brother, David B. Kidder, and his wife Pam, also of East Liverpool.

In addition to his parents Bill was preceded by a grandson Andrew Swain.
