Obituary for John M. Dailey

John M. Dailey, 58

EAST LIVERPOOL – John M. Dailey, of East Liverpool, passed away Saturday morning, June 9, 2018 at the Calcutta Health Care Center after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He was 58

Born in East Liverpool, April 12, 1960, he was a son of Dwight “Don” and Mitzi Anderson Mercer. A lifetime area resident, he was a member of the Beaver Local High School Class of 1978. He worked for the SBS Constructors and was a member of the Heat and Frost Insulators Union Local 84. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and for many years was a member East Liverpool High School Athletic Hall of Fame Committee. John was also a familiar face on the sidelines at Potter football games as a member of the chain gang.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Mary E. Crow Dailey, whom he married November 24, 1979. He also leaves two daughters: Ashley B. McMains and her husband, Patrick, of East Liverpool, and Courtney D. Board and her husband, Michael, of Leetonia, as well as five grandchildren: Connor K. McMains, Alee M. Keyes, Declan S. McMains, Michael E. Board III and Ezra M. Board.

He also is survived by a brother, Jim Dailey and his wife, Sue, of East Liverpool, along with two sisters, Pam Williams and her husband, David, of East Liverpool and Lisa Arcure and her husband, Nicky, of Fairmont, West Virginia.

Friends may visit Monday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 3 to 6 p.m. where Pastors Bob and Kim Gadd will conduct a funeral service at 6 p.m.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the House of Prayer for fellowship.

Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.
