Obituary for David L. Adkins Sr.

David L. Adkins, 75

WELLSVILLE – David L. Adkins, 75, of Clark Avenue in Wellsville, passed away Friday morning, June 15, at his home following a brief illness.

Born in East Liverpool, May 7, 1943, he was a son of the late Wilfred and Ruth Eck Adkins, he had attended East Liverpool High School.

David worked for various area potteries at one time and retired from the former Sterling China Co. A fan of car shows, David also enjoyed spending time at the Broadway Wharf and the Wellsville Fire Department.

David is survived by his girlfriend of 34 years Linda Murphy, also surviving are his five daughters, Patty Adkins of Wellsville, Debbie Dalrymple (Tom) of Wellsville, Cindy Dalrymple of Wellsville, Dawn Adkins of East Liverpool and Traci Murphy of Wellsville. There is one son, David L. Adkins, Jr. of East Liverpool. There are 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren who survive as well.

He also is survived by his sister, Alice Ruth Eckstein of East Liverpool.

In addition to his parents David was preceded by two brothers, Gerald and Kenneth Adkins.

Friends may visit Monday evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service with Reverend Norm Eckert will be at 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.
