Obituary for Robert D. Fickes

ROBERT D. FICKES, 60

MINERVA, OHIO – Robert D. Fickes, 60, died at his home on North Market Street in Minerva at 6:25 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 following a brief battle with cancer.

He was born in East Liverpool on February 4, 1958, a son of the late Ronald W. and Kathleen Jones Fickes.

Bob had cut grass for Bates Lawn Service at one time and was a bartender at the former 606 Club and Dan’s Bar. He enjoyed shooting pool and was a 1976 graduate of East Liverpool High School.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn V. “Katie” Smith Fickes, whom he married in 2007. Also surviving are three daughters: Nellie Reeder of Rogers, Roni Wafler of Kensington, Ohio, and April Hallam of Canada. Bob is also survived by his 14 grandchildren.

There is a sister, Kim Davis, and two brothers, Brodie A. “Bo” Fickes and Rowdy J. Fickes, all of East Liverpool.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Tuesday, where the family will be present from 3 to 5 p.m. A service will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery.
